It’s a known fact that Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez is one of the top rim protectors in the game today. In fact, one might even go as far as saying that the former All-Star should be considered one of the greatest shot blockers in NBA history.
Sounds like some pretty lofty praise, right? Well, as it turns out, Lopez has the numbers to back this audacious claim up.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Brook Lopez Enters Elite Company

Lopez had another big performance in Sunday’s blowout win against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 35-year-old logged 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, while also blocking away another five shots against a Joel Embiid-less Sixers side.
Lopez’s block party now has him ranked second in the Bucks’ all-time blocks leaderboard, where he is currently tied with Alton Lister with 804 career swats.
As pointed out by Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Lopez is now “just the fourth player in NBA history to record at least 800 blocks with two different franchises.” In case you didn’t know, Lopez holds the franchise record for the Brooklyn Nets with 972 blocks.
Only Shaquille O’Neal (Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic), Dikember Mutombo (Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks), and Larry Nance Sr. (Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns) have achieved this same feat.

That’s quite the company, right?
Both Shaq and Mutombo are Hall of Famers, while Nance had a pretty decorated career in his time in the NBA. That’s not a bad group to be part of for Lopez, if you ask me.
