It would probably be safe to say that the Milwaukee Bucks would not have come out victorious on Monday night against the Miami Heat had it not been for Bobby Portis. The 28-year-old came out with an eye-opening performance off the bench as he helped Milwaukee to a 122-114 win over one of their fiercest East rivals.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Bobby Portis Reacts to Heat Win
Shortly after his eruption off the bench on Monday night, Portis took to Twitter to share his perfect reaction to his strong performance:
“MY CANDLE STAY LIT,” Portis wrote in his tweet.

Portis could not have said it more perfectly. In case you were wondering, the #UD stands for “underdog,” which is a notion that the veteran associates with himself proudly.
Portis is no star, and he’s been counted out many times in the past. However, he’s been able to battle through all the adversity to be where he is today.
Portis finished Monday’s win with 16 points on a very efficient 7-of-10 from the field. He also added eight rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block, and zero turnovers in his limited time on the floor. Coming off the bench, the 6-foot-10 big man needed just 19 minutes to make a significant impact on the win.
Milwaukee was coming off a blowout loss from the previous night against the Atlanta Hawks, so they were in desperate need of a boost from somewhere in the second night of a back-to-back set. As he’s done many times in the past, Portis answered the call.
Simply put, that’s just what Bobby Portis does, and this is exactly why Bucks fans love him dearly.
