The Miami Heat will be without one of their best players on Monday night when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks. This is after two-time All-Star Bam Adebayo was ruled out shortly before tip-off. The Heat big man is currently dealing with a hip injury, which will now force him to sit out this crucial early-season matchup.
Bam Adebayo Ruled Out Vs. Milwaukee Bucks
In a surprising turn of events, Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra announced that Adebayo will be sidelined on Monday. Coach Spo revealed his star big man’s status barely an hour before the game tips off:
“Heat coach Erik Spoelstra tells reporters that Bam Adebayo will not be able to play tonight against the Bucks,” reports Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
The Heat also made the official announcement via Twitter:

Adebayo has played in all three of Miami’s games so far this season, including their back-to-back set on Friday and Saturday against the Boston Celtics and the Minnesota Timberwolves, respectively.
The four-time All-Defensive big man was even seen warming up on the court just hours before the game started:

Moreover, Adebayo was nowhere to be found on Miami’s initial injury report heading into the game.
Apparently, the 26-year-old is dealing with a hip contusion that forced the team to downgrade his status to questionable earlier in the day. It is unclear if he suffered the injury during morning shootaround but either way, the Heat have opted to err on the side of caution here by letting Adebayo sit this one out.
It goes without saying that losing Adebayo is a massive blow for the Heat, who are looking to bounce back after back-to-back losses over the weekend. They’re now going to have a tougher time in attempting to defeat Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and the rest of the Bucks on Milwaukee’s own home floor.
