The Milwaukee Bucks were expected to win Monday’s showdown against the Chicago Bulls at the Fiserv Forum. After all, the Bulls were missing the services of two of their most important players in Zach LaVine and Alex Caruso due to injury.
In the end, the Bucks still got their win, 133-129, but it did not come without a hard-fought battle against an unrelenting Chicago side.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Adrian Griffin Speaks on Getting the W Against Chicago

Monday’s Central Division bout required an overtime period to determine a winner. This is after the Bulls came storming back in the fourth quarter to force an extra five minutes. Milwaukee had a lead for virtually the entire game, but somehow, the Bulls managed to claw their way back to make a game out of it.
While it wasn’t exactly a pretty win, Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin remains extremely proud of his boys’ effort. He knows that the Bulls gave them a run for their money but in the end, Milwaukee stood their ground.
“Last time we played Chicago, it was a different outcome,” Griffin said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “But I thought we continued to fight, continued to execute down the stretch. These wins, they don’t ask how you got it, but it’s how many you’re going to get at the end of the year, that’s the most important thing. It’s a W. I walked in the locker room and I said, ‘It’s 129 Bulls, 133 Bucks, that’s all that matters right now.’”

Griffin hit the nail on the head here. The biggest takeaway from Monday night is that the Bucks marked their 16th win of the season to retain the second spot in the Eastern Conference, where they are currently tied with the Orlando Magic.
Milwaukee would have preferred an easier win against the Bulls, but the fact of the matter is that they also would much rather come out with a W than be on the losing end.
