The Milwaukee Brewers swung their second trade of the week on Monday evening as they brought in outfielder Mark Canha from the New York Mets. Previously they brought in first baseman Carlos Santana from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In order to acquire Mark Canha the Brewers parted ways with pitching prospect Justin Jarvis. Brewers GM Matt Arnold was also able to persuade the Mets to pay all but the MLB league minimum of his remaining $11.5 MM salary for the 2023 season plus his $2 MM buyout for the 2024 season.
After the trade was officially announced the reactions among fans were relatively split between this being a good trade for the Brewers vs not moving the needle all too much.

STOP BEING CHEAP AND GET BETTER PLAYERS. This is one of the reasons why we’re NEVER winning a World Series

Mark Canha has a 17.2% strikeout rate this year. That is a career-best. Love it.

Brewers RFers this year have a cumulative .189/.281/.286 slash line with a 27.6% K rate.
Mark Canha should provide a big improvement over that
