The Milwaukee Brewers currently own the league’s longest winning streak of six games and have built their largest lead in the National League Central division. On Friday night they scored five runs in the third inning off of San Diego Padres starting pitcher Yu Darvish. Rowdy Tellez hit a three run home run that inning and following the game he made a bold statement to the rest of the league.

It has been one week since the Brewers reinstated Rowdy Tellez from the injured list. His home run off of Yu Darvish was his first long ball since before Memorial Day and in his post game interview he wanted to make sure the rest of the league knew how good this Milwaukee baseball team is.

We’re a good team. A lot of people don’t think we can hit well, but we are very much about timely hitting and we build off of one another. We have depth in our lineup.
This victory pushes the Brewers record to 71-57. They have the third best record in the National League and they appear to be hitting their stride at just the right time for the offense has scored a minimum of six runs during each game on their winning streak.
