The Milwaukee Brewers and the New York Mets are going to have to wait another day to play baseball. Opening Day was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 28 with the first pitch at 12:40 p.m. CT at Citi Field in Flushing, New York, but the game was postponed on Wednesday because of rain predicted in the forecast for Thursday.
The game will now be played on Friday, March 29 at 12:40 p.m. CT. Fans are going to have to wait an extra day for baseball. With baseball spring training in the rearview mirror, it’s time for the real games to begin. The Brewers will look to defend its National League Central title this season.
The Mets and the Brewers were not the only game to be postponed on Thursday. Right down I-95, the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies were also postponed because of the rain scheduled in the forecast. Those were the only two games postponed for the day.
Milwaukee Brewers Fans React to the Postponement Against the New York Mets
The Brewers fanbase was not thrilled that they had to wait another day to see baseball against the Mets on the road. This is the three-game set to start the 2024 season. Manager Pat Murphy will have to wait to make his Brewers debut as the lead guy. This is what some of the fans have to say about the postponement:
Dear @MLB
Give the fans what they want and make all opening games at stadiums with a roof. https://t.co/BEeWrlP90v

Just tell the @Mets to get a roof. Problem solved.

We can’t handle rain??? I got off work early tomorrow to watch 🫠

Some fans would love to see a retractable roof, but not every team can get one. Rain days will happen and only a few stadiums are either doomed or do have a retractable roof. Brewers and Mets fans aren’t the only ones who would like to see it, other baseball fans would like to see it too.
