The Wisconsin Badgers are hitting the transfer portal and another name that they could be seeking is Belmont Bruins guard Cade Tyson. He was a sophomore this past season for Belmont. Tyson is a 6’7″ guard who weighs 205 lbs.
Last season with the Belmont Bruins, he averaged 16.2 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.6 APG, 0.6 BPG, and 0.9 SPG. Cade Tyson shot 49.3% from the field and he also shot 46.5% from three-point land. Tyson is one of the best three-point shooters on the portal.
There are 13 other teams that are interested in him along with the Badgers. The Indiana Hoosiers and the Penn State Nittany Lions are the other two schools in the BIG10 Conference that are looking at him. Some of the big-name programs that are interested in him are the Kansas Jayhawks, the Florida Gators, the Auburn Tigers, and the Texas Longhorns.
Cade Tyson Would Be a Perfect A.J. Storr Replacement For the Wisconsin Badgers
With Storr declaring for the NBA Draft, the Badgers are most likely going to have to replace his scoring for next season. Tyson would be a good fit for this program. Head coach Greg Gard needs to lure him into the program. Tyson is from Monroe, North Carolina and would he go back home to play for the North Carolina State Wolfpack since the North Carolina Tar Heels do not seem to have any interest in him.
During the 2022-2023 season, Tyson won the Missouri Valley Conference Rookie of the Year Award. However, during the 2023-2024 season, he started in all 31 games for the Belmont Bruins and Cade Tyson was a second-team selection for the All-Missouri Valley Conference. With two years of eligibility left, this would be a good fit for any program, including the Badgers.
Wisconsin was very good offensively this season. They need to be just as good next season in the BIG10 Conference if they want to get back to the NCAA Tournament. Cade Tyson might be the best fit of anyone in the transfer portal for the Wisconsin Badgers also.
