The Milwaukee Brewers top 30 prospect list has received an update. Sal Frelick has met certain guidelines and is no longer considered a prospect. As a result 20 year old outfielder Jace Avina has slid into the rankings board at number 30 and LHP Robert Gasser has moved into the teams top five overall.

Avina 5
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jace Avina is the newest member of the top 30 rankings.
Jace Avina was drafted out of High School by the Brewers in the 14th round of the 2021 draft. He was initially committed to the University of Nevada but signed with Milwaukee at a slot value of $255,900. At the time he was drafted power was his highest rated tool at 60.
During the 2022 season he wasted no time putting that 60 rated power on display as he hit 10 home runs in the Arizona Complex League and then five more after being promoted to Single-A Carolina. He has played the entire 2023 season with the Mudcats in which he got off to a slow start but lately he has been on a tear at the plate.
Since July 22 Jace Avina is slashing .371/.492/.705. During the month of August he was one of the best Single-A hitters as he ranked first in OPS (1.095), fifth in extra base hits (12), fifth in on base percentage (.485), and fifth in doubles (eight). Overall this season he has 14 long balls and an .816 OPS.
