The Milwaukee Brewers have provided an injury update on two of their players. Unfortunately one pitcher’s season is over before he could appear in a major league ball game and another is set to begin a Triple-A rehab assignment.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Justin Wilson sustained a season ending injury and Rowdy Tellez is set to begin a Triple-A rehab assignment.
At the end of July Justin Wilson sustained an injury while warming up in the bullpen prior to his Brewers debut. It was a tough moment to watch as he was in clear agony. The Brewers have now confirmed that he sustained an injury to his lat and will miss the remainder of the 2023 season.
As for Rowdy Tellez, he was initially dealing with forearm inflammation but then sustained a separate injury while shagging balls in the outfield that resulted in a finger fracture nail bed injury requiring several stitches. His minor league rehab assignment will begin on Tuesday, August 8.
Upon returning Rowdy Tellez may be behind Carlos Santana for playing time at first base. It is possible that he slots in as the designated hitter, but more than likely manager Craig Counsell will ride whoever has the hot bat. Tellez is capable of being a big run producer but unfortunately outside of the first month of the season he has struggled to the tune of a .213/.285/.388 slash line this season.
