Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Carlos Rodriguez was the organizations 2022 minor league pitcher of the year. That is a very prestigious award to be handed out by one’s organization. This year he is putting together another monstrous season on the mound and recently was awarded the Southern League Pitcher of the Month for July.

Ascending Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Carlos Rodriguez wins the Southern League Pitcher of the Month award for July.
In July Carlos Rodriguez made four starts. This number seems low because similar to the big leagues the minor leagues also took some time off for the All-Star break. During his four games he covered 18.1 innings (one shortened start due to a rain delay), struck out 24, had a 0.93 WHIP, and allowed just two earned runs.
A massive congratulations to Carlos Rodriguez on being named the Southern League Pitcher of the Month for July!

This already stacks upon what he has accomplished this season, which is a top pitcher in the Southern League. Among other Double-A pitchers this year Carlos Rodriguez leads the league in lowest batting average against (.181), is third in strikeouts (114), third in WHIP (1.14), and is ninth in innings pitched.
At 21 years old there is a lot of promise in Carlos Rodriguez. It will be interesting to see if Milwaukee elects to get his feet wet in Triple-A this season or not.
