Former Milwaukee Brewers fan favorite Mike Moustakas has had a crazy last calendar year. With a recently new contract binding him to the Chicago White Sox he now will be joining his third different organization in less than 365 days.
Mike Moustakas has signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.
Jon Heyman reported that Moustakas is signing a minor league deal with the White Sox that includes an invite to big league camp. The 13 year veteran has big league experience every year dating back to 2011 and now he will get the opportunity to earn a spot with Chicago.
In 2023 Mike Moustakas played for the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels.
Per MLB.com and their transaction tracker, Moustakas began last year by signing with the Rockies on March 5, 2023. He made the big league team and was playing well enough with Colorado that the Angels elected to trade for him in their effort to compile as much talent as possible. An injury in the middle of September ultimately ended his season a little bit early, but overall in 2023 he slashed .246/.293/.392 with 12 home runs and 48 RBI.
Mike Moustakas formerly had some good seasons with the Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cincinnati Reds.
After being originally drafted by the Royals Moustakas found his footing in the league with Kansas City and was a part of their stretch of postseason teams including the 2015 World Series winners. He joined Milwaukee in 2018 for their playoff chase, came back for the 2019 season, and then signed a multi year deal with the Reds.
