The Milwaukee Brewers have had several All-Stars during their best stretch of winning baseball as an organization. This era started in 2017 and runs through the present day. During this time the Brew Crew have made the playoffs in five out of seven seasons.
Recently two former All-Stars with the Brewers found new homes for the 2024 season. One was an All-Star with the team in 2017 and the other in 2019.
Corey Knebel has signed a contract with the Chicago White Sox
During the 2017 season Corey Knebel was elected to his lone All-Star game. That year he led the league in appearances with 76, recorded 39 saves, had a 1.78 ERA, and a 14.9 K:9 ratio. Milwaukee traded him to the Los Angeles Dodgers in December of 2020. His contract with the White Sox is a minor league deal that includes an invite to big league camp. Knebel last appeared in the big leagues in 2022.
Yasmani Grandal has signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Leading up to the 2019 season Yasani Grandal was the Brewers big free agent signing. He joined the Crew just a few months after knocking them out of the playoffs with the Dodgers. Milwaukee got him on a one year deal and he delivered to the tune of an .848 OPS, 119 OPS+, 28 home runs, and 77 RBI. The White Sox signed him to a four year, $73 million contract. Pittsburgh is getting him for one year and $2.5 million with the opportunity to earn more based on incentives.
