Some major MLB news on Saturday night came from the Los Angeles Angels vs Colorado Rockies game in which the Angels won by a score of 25-1. In this game starting pitcher Chase Anderson gave up three home runs on just three pitches, the Angels scored 13 runs in the third inning and eight runs in the fourth inning, and all starting nine players from the Angels recorded at least one RBI.
After the game some trade news between the two teams was announced. Robert Murray, MLB Insider for Fansided, broke the news first. His report indicated that the Rockies were sending Mike Moustakas to the Angels in exchange for Connor Van Scoyoc.
From the Angels standpoint this move makes some sense. They recently lost Gio Urshela and Anthony Rendon due to injuries. A trade with the Mets a day prior brought them Eduardo Escobar, but the addition of Mike Moustakas should help give them plenty of infield depth.
The weird part about this deal was the timing. Not only is Mike Moustakas going to switch club houses for the two teams are currently playing one another, but the trade was executed hours after the Rockies most humiliating defeat in recent memory.
MLB News: Fans react to Mike Moustakas being traded from the Colorado Rockies to the Los Angeles Angels.
Not only took their dignity tonight, but also one of their players

The Angels will be the fifth organization that Mike Moustakas has played for throughout his career. He was a long time Kansas City Royals, spent a few seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds, and joined the Colorado Rockies for the 2023 season.
