After suffering three losses in a row, and a measly three-hit performance during a 1-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, the Milwaukee Brewers came back strong during the second game of this series scoring eight runs on 10 hits to take an epic 8-2 win. Tyler Black made his MLB debut collecting two hits in Milwaukee’s win. There was also a brawl that occurred in the eighth inning with multiple punches being thrown.

With the win the Brewers are now 18-11. After the Chicago Cubs took a 4-2 loss to the New York Mets, the Brewers are back in first place in the NL Central-leading by a half-game over the Cubs. Tampa Bay drops to 14-17, which is six games back of the AL East-leading Baltimore Orioles.

During the bottom of the first inning with runners at the corners, Brewers shortstop Willy Adames hit a sacrifice fly into center field, with a runner coming home, Milwaukee led 1-0. An inning later, Brewers second baseman Brice Turang hit an RBI single to left-center field. Two batters later, catcher William Contreras hit a sacrifice fly to right field, giving the Brewers a solid 3-0 lead. Rays right fielder Richie Palacios robbed Rhys Hoskins of what could have been an extra-base hit with an amazing catch near the right field wall.

At the top of the third inning, the Rays got on the board when center fielder Jose Siri hit a solo shot to left-center field, cutting the Brewers deficit to 3-1. A half inning later, Tyler Black got his first official MLB hit with the Brewers as he hit a double into center field. Just a few innings later in the bottom of the fifth inning with runners at the corners, Willy Adames blasted a three-run home run to left-center field to give Milwaukee a 6-1 lead. During the top of the sixth inning, Richie Palacios hit an RBI single into center field making it a 6-2 ball game.

Milwaukee Scores Two Runs, and A Brawl Occurs

Brice Turang would hit a two-run double during the bottom of the seventh inning to give Milwaukee an 8-2 lead. In the top of the eighth both benches cleared after Jose Siri simply grounded out. Brewers reliever Abner Uribe must have said something because both Siri and Uribe were going back and forth with one another. Next thing you know, Uribe starts to throw punches at the Rays center fielder. I’m sure both of these players will miss a few games because of this incident. Milwaukee would go on to win this game 8-2.

Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta pitched five and one third innings allowing two runs on one hit with seven strikeouts. Milwaukee’s pitching staff went on to have 12 combined strikeouts on the night. Rays starting pitcher Tyler Alexander pitched four innings allowing three runs on six hits, and two walks with three strikeouts. Tyler Black was one of three Brewers to record a multi-hit game during this epic win. Willy Adames went one for four with 4 RBIs, while Brice Turang went two for four with three RBIs.
