The Milwaukee Brewers have had Craig Counsell as their manager since 2015. He has been the longest tenured manager in the National League and on November 1 he will officially become a free agent. Already the New York Mets and Cleveland Guardians have interviewed him for their managerial opening, but now reports are indicating that an American League West team is interested in him as well.

Milwaukee Brewers: Craig Counsell drawing interest from the Houston Astros (report).
According to a report from Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel one American League team has expressed interest in pursuing Craig Counsell as their manager. That team is the Houston Astros. At this time it is unclear how heavily they will pursue him.
Despite having interest in Craig Counsell there are no reports indicating that the Astros have scheduled an interview with him. Aside from the Brewers only the Guardians and Mets have conducted their interviews with Craig Counsell.

Upon exiting the 2023 playoffs the Astros manager Dusty Baker announced his retirement. He took over in Houston during 2020 and won two pennants along with a World Series. Whoever becomes the next manager in Houston will have some big shoes to fill.

Other teams across baseball with current managerial openings that have not yet been linked to Craig Counsell include the Los Angeles Angels and the San Diego Padres. It would not be surprising to see several other teams show interest in him including teams that currently have managers.
