Milwaukee Brewers ace Corbin Burnes pitched a dandy of a game on Sunday against the New York Yankees. He threw 109 pitches, covered eight innings of no-hit baseball, and struck out seven batters. His team kept the no-hitter going into the 11th inning and there were a few incredible plays that helped preserve the no-hitter including one where he injured his ankle.
During the top of the seventh inning Corbin Burnes had to field an infield dribbler off the bat of Isiah Kiner-Falefa. After leaving the mound he fell, recorded the out, and sprained his ankle in the process. He did come out and pitch one more inning after this.

After the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees game Corbin Burnes provided a reassuring update on his ankle.

Adam McCalvy reported after the game that Corbin Burnes sprained his left ankle. He indicated that it was sore but that he expects to be fine for his next start. His next projected start would be Friday, September 15 against the Washington Nationals. Milwaukee is currently three games into a stretch of 17 games in as many days, so between that and trying to hold onto the division lead losing him at this time would not be ideal.
