The Green Bay Packers will be doing their homework all off-season in an attempt to take their roster to the next level. That is especially true on defense. The Packers have a completely revamped defensive coaching staff who is bringing a more physical approach to the defense.
The search to add to that defense continued today when the Packers actually brought in an extremely talented cornerback.
The Green Bay Packers Host One Of The Most Sought After Defenders
Alabama’s Kool-Aid McKinstry took to social media to show that he was watching the Solar Eclipse from Lambeau Field:

During his 42 career games at Alabama, McKinstry recorded 92 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions, and 25 pass breakups. In addition to being a starter as a sophomore and junior at Alabama, he played an important role as a true freshman.

Will The Packers Use A First Round Draft Pick On A Defensive Back?
Since 2019 the Packers have only taken two defensive backs in the first three rounds of the NFL draft. That was CB Eric Stokes in 2021 (first round) and S Darnell Savage in 2019 (first round).
With Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, and Carrington Valentine being the Packers’ top three cornerbacks on their roster, drafting one in the first round is very possible.
Valentine and Stokes, when healthy, have shown some real promise in this league. However, starting a true playmaker across from Alexander could be a game changer for this defense.
McKinstry’s draft projection is widely presumed to be mid to late first round.
