Milwaukee Brewers legendary radio announcer Bob Uecker has been absent from the teams past few home games. The 89 year old has worked on a reduced schedule for quite some time and no longer travels to away games, but missing home games is a bit odd. Here is an update that Adam McCalvy, beat reporter for the Brew Crew, provided regarding him being gone.
Where has Milwaukee Brewers radio announcer Bob Uecker been the past few home games?
After receiving many inquiries as to the whereabouts of Bob Uecker, Adam McCalvy provided the following statement.
A number of fans have asked about Ueck missing the last couple of home games. The Brewers report he is just taking a few extra days to recharge the batteries and be ready for the stretch. I’m sure he appreciates that so many folks miss hearing his voice.
Milwaukee is currently finishing up a weekend series at home against the San Diego Padres. Following this they travel to Chicago for three games and then they briefly return home over Labor Day weekend to take on the Philadelphia Phillies. After the Phillies series the next home game will be September 11 against the Miami Marlins.
Hopefully Bob Uecker is able to get recharged and ready for the home stretch in which Milwaukee is currently in position to be playing baseball into October.
