The Milwaukee Brewers already made one move for a starting pitcher this season, but they may not be done making moves for starting pitching. They acquired Dallas Keuchel and Aaron Civale already this season, but it appears as if they still need to upgrade at the position.
The Milwaukee Brewers have a 53-38 record so far this season. They are in first place in the National League Central. Manager Pat Murphy has done a good job in his first season replacing Craig Counsell.
Milwaukee is currently the third seed in the National League. The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies are currently ahead of the Brewers in the National League Standings. Los Angeles and Philadelphia both have better-starting pitching than Milwaukee does.
The Milwaukee Brewers Should Try and Get Tarik Skubal From the Detroit Tigers
A lot of Tigers fans would be upset if they traded Tarik Skubal and rightfully so. He did pitch against the Milwaukee Brewers earlier this season and would immediately become the ace of this baseball team.
Skubal is only 27 years old and would not be a free agent for another couple of seasons. This year with Detroit, he has a 10-3 record and has a 2.37 ERA. Skubal has only walked 20 batters and has struck out 132 batters. It would be interesting to see what prospects the Milwaukee Brewers would have to give up for him.
Michael Lorenzen, Texas Rangers
After winning the World Series last season, the Texas Rangers are on pace to miss the playoffs this season. Texas can very well have a fire sale at the MLB Trade Deadline. Max Scherzer is a name that the Milwaukee Brewers could go after, but Michael Lorenzen could be a cheaper option for them.
Lorenzen is 32 years old and will have an expiring contract, It wouldn’t cost the Brewers as much on the trade market. Michael Lorenzen has a 5-4 record this season with a 3.21 ERA. He has walked 40 batters and has struck out 62 batters.
Erick Fedde, Chicago White Sox
The name that everyone wants on the Chicago White Sox is Garrett Crochet and he is going to come at a hefty price. Chicago will also listen to offers on Erick Fedde. He is 31 years old and will also be under contract for next season,
The White Sox are the worst team in baseball and they are going to want as many prospects as possible. Fedde would be a good fit for the Milwaukee Brewers rotation. He has a 6-3 record with a 3.13 ERA this season. Erick Fedde has walked 28 batters and has struck out 94 batters. A rotation with Freddy Peralta and Fedde could be ideal for them.
