The Milwaukee Brewers (87-66) are continuing to rack up the wins and currently have a magic number of two in order to clinch the National League Central Division and one to make the playoffs. Once they achieve this they will secure their fifth post season berth in six years and third division title in as many years.
As usual their pitching staff has been dominant all season, but they have taken things to a whole new level over the last month. Additionally their offense, which has been their achilles heel in years past, has evolved since the trade deadline. All of this makes 2023 feel different than years prior and recently MLB Network dubbed them a dark horse World Series team.
MLB Network dubbed the Milwaukee Brewers a dark horse World Series team for this years playoffs.
Naturally MLB Network put a lot of focus on the Brewers pitching staff. They called Milwaukee a nightmare opponent for anyone to see in the post season, especially once the five and seven games series start. A few pitchers highlighted by MLB Network were Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley, and Abner Uribe.

Additional comments on the team were that they have the ability to make a deep run and that their offensive lineup has evolved.
“This is a quality team that has the ability to make a deep deep run.”
“Yeah I think their roster has evolved with some young guys and the trade additions.”
The Brewers roster is loaded with rookies. Outfielders Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins are currently on the big league roster, infielders Brice Turang and Andruw Monasterio continue to split time, and Abner Uribe has been lights out in the bullpen. Joey Wiemer is currently in Triple-A but could factor into the teams post season plans.
Mid season additions that the Brewers have added include first baseman Carlos Santana, outfielder Mark Canha, and third baseman Josh Donaldson. All have been impact players in the lineup along with off season trade addition William Contreras.
All in all Milwaukee has a good blend of veterans, rookies, and quality players. Manager Craig Counsell does a great job at utilizing his players and keeping them ready to play. It should be exciting to see what the Brewers can do in the 2023 playoffs.
