The Green Bay Packers have one last preseason game on Saturday August 26th, versus the Seattle Seahawks at home. In the first two weeks, many young stars from Carrington Valentine to Sean Clifford have impressed us so far.
This however, does not mean that all of the roster spots are even close to final decisions. Quite the opposite actually, as you will see in this morning’s press conference with Packers coach Matt Lafleur this morning.
Uncertainty continues:
As usual, coaches tend to keep their cards close to their chest when it comes to roster decisions. For Matt today, this philosophy held true within his answers. When a reporter asked him if this is a different week for players fighting for roster sports, this is what coach had to say.
” I mean it’s training camp…I still think there’s a lot of battles and positions to be fought for “, he said. ” So we’re attacking it the same way we have up to this point “,Matt continued on saying.
Now this news isn’t very surprising, most teams likely don’t have their 52 man roster completely ready to go. However, if I had to take a gander at it, Packers fans should expect standout rookies like Kenneth Odumegwu and Carrington Valentine to make the roster.
All in all, this Saturday’s game versus Seattle is a must watch game for Packers fans in my opinion. It will likely answer all of the questions we have after this press conference.
