Kenneth Odumegwu is a rookie linebacker for the Packers who is from the country of Nigeria.
At 6’6 weighing at 259 lb, he certainly has an impressive frame for a linebacker. Shockingly what he doesn’t have is any experience playing American football, and by American football I don’t mean football in america.
I mean he’s never actually played this sport before. That’s no joke, however that doesn’t mean you should take him as one.
Watching him in training camp, seeing him participate in all the drills alongside everyone else, there’s very little difference in the way he looks compared to his peers.
If you were to know nothing about him and just watch his performance in camp, you would think he’s just another prospect out of an American college.
Given all of this, another positive aspect of him is his mentality.
In a one-on-one sit-down with Packers analyst Larry McCarren, he outlined his goals for this season clearly.
” I hope by the end of this season people don’t see me as someone who just came into this game “. That’s the hunger and mentality you would want from a prospect as raw as Kenneth.
If Jordan Love and Preston Smith didn’t give you enough to be excited for this season, maybe the fact that we could have just found a diamond in the rough this season will boost your excitement.
