Last year was not a great year for Mason Crosby. He has had down seasons throughout his career but the Packers have stuck by him. The hope was that this year he would bounce back. This looks to be the case so far. Mason Crosby is the only kicker to do this in 2022.

Mason Crosby has played in every game this season. He has made at least one field goal in each of those games. Every field goals attempted has been put through the uprights and he is perfect on extra points as well. This is exactly how Packers fans wanted the season to start out for Crosby. While he has not been called on a lot this season, the fact that he is perfect on the season is a great start. Whether it is the new holder Pat O’Donnell or long snapper Jack Coco something is different for Crosby this year in a good way.
Good News For Packers This Season
The Packers tend to play close games. At the end of the game, there is confidence that Aaron Rodgers can get the team into field goal range. All the Packers need is someone to consistently make the field goals. It seems like Crosby is out of his funk from last year and back to making field goals consistently. This will matter at some point down the road in this season. Even outside of close games, the fact that the Packers are not leaving points on the table through missed field goals is a positive. Rich Bisaccia has clearly had a huge impact on the Packers special teams this season.
There are a lot of questions for the Packers this season. It is refreshing to not have field goal kicking on the list of concerns for the team. Rodgers seems confident that the offense is primed to click and the defense has too much talent to be this bad. We will see if Crosby can keep his streak going on Sunday versus the Jets.
