This was a matchup that many had been anticipating; The Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks. Both carry incredible, high-caliber players on their team in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic. Both players have been on fire since the beginning of the season, and both the front runners in the MVP conversation.
Giannis led both teams in scoring on Sunday in Milwaukee’s 124-115 victory over Dallas with 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting, 11 rebounds, and four assists in less than a half hour of playing time. Luka Doncic ended his game with 27 points, five rebounds and 12 assists in just over 35 minutes of play.
Giannis continues his tear.

After the game, Doncic applauded Giannis for his performance, giving him props and called him the best player in the world.
“It’s hard to go against a guy like that. He’s the best player in the NBA right now. He’s almost impossible to stop. It’s really fun to see him play, but it’s not that fun to go against him.”
He continues,
“He improves every day. He works really hard, you can see it. He works on everything. He works on his shot, and he’s gotten better at a lot of things. He just gets better every day!”
Giannis also reacted to the comment expressing his appreciation for Doncic as well.
“That’s a great compliment and I appreciate that…When you play against the best players in the league, being able to say something like that feels good. No matter wins or losses, just being respected by your peers, it’s always a good feeling.”
Plenty of Season Left
There’s still time for both Giannis and Doncic to prove themselves as the worthy MVP. Doncic has been on a tear this season, averaging 33.1 PPG, 8.7 REB, and 8.4 AST on 50% shooting. For Dallas, he’s probably been their most consistent player, maintaining his stats and performing when needed.
When it comes to the real question of who’s the best player in the NBA, there’s no doubt that Giannis holds that title. The Greek Freak is still in his prime, and he’s a force to be reckoned with. While that doesn’t mean we’re discrediting Luka Doncic’s career, he’s been amazing, but Giannis just has a little bit more of excellence and power under his belt.
