Los Angeles Lakers forward Lebron James’s status for tonight’s matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks is doubtful. The game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. CT time on TNT. With the Lakers playing on Wednesday night on the road also against the Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles plans on resting James in this contest.
He did not play in the other matchup this season against the Bucks. Some fans were joking that Lebron James was running away from playing against Giannis Antetokounmpo. Well, James is averaging 25.4 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 8.1 APG, and shooting 53.0% from the field this season. What he has done this season despite his age is nothing but amazement.
With James expected to be out of the lineup on Tuesday night against the Bucks, Tauren Prince will most likely start in his place for the Lakers. The other starters for Los Angeles will be D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Davis (game-time decision), Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura.
The projected starting lineup for the Milwaukee Bucks in this matchup will be Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Malik Beasley. Antetokounmpo and Middleton are listed as game-time decisions for this matchup.
The Los Angeles Lakers are Comfortable In the 9th Spot in the Western Conference With Lebron James Resting Against the Milwaukee Bucks
The Lakers will most likely be in the play-in round in the NBA playoffs and they are in a good spot in regards to that. They are currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 39-32 record. Los Angeles is a couple of games back of the Phoenix Suns for the eighth seed and they are a couple of games ahead of the Golden State Warriors of the 10th spot in the Western Conference.
This is a good call for the Lakers to give Lebron James rest in this matchup even though it is a nationally televised game against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks have a 46-25 record on the year and they are currently the two seed in the Eastern Conference. They are way behind the Boston Celtics for the one seed but have a few-game lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Milwaukee needs to have a good showing with James sidelined on Tuesday night. The Lakers on the other hand are looking to steal one on the road without him on a back-to-back.
