While he was just a third-string quarterback, Kurt Benkert is still a fan favorite. He often weighs in on what the team and former players are doing. Former Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby, who had been rumored to sign with many teams throughout the season, finally signed with the Los Angeles Rams. Benkert praised the signing saying it was a perfect fit for Crosby.

Kurt Benkert Praises Mason Crosby Signing
“Automatic, now playing in a dome. What a fit,” Benkert wrote on social media. The 39-year-old kicker spent 16 seasons with the Packers and is the franchise’s all-time scoring leader. When the team decided to move on from him in favor of rookie Anders Carlson, many fans were hoping that he would find another spot to play for at least one more season. He now gets a great weather city where he can kick in a dome. Having kicked Lambeau Field all these years, kicking in Los Angeles shouldn’t be an issue.
Will Crosby Come Back To Bite The Packers?
The Rams have the same record as the Packers currently. Green Bay owns the tiebreaker so they currently hold the seventh spot in the NFC. However, the Rams are not out of it, especially with an offense of Matthew Stafford, Kyren Williams, Cooper Kupp, and Puka Nacua. The last spot could come down to winning or losing one game. It would be absolutely heartbreaking if Crosby hit a kick that knocked the Packers out of the playoffs. We are still a long way away from that scenario but it is something in the back of a lot of Packers fan’s minds today.
The Mason Crosby signing is great for the Rams. He is one of the best kickers in the past couple of decades and should help the Rams solidify the kicker position.
