The Wisconsin Badgers are looking for some top basketball talent to recruit within their own state as the tables turn for the recruiting class of 2024. Kon Knueppel, a 6 foot-5, 205-pound small forward, who currently attends Wisconsin Lutheran in Milwaukee Wisconsin, is set to make another unofficial visit to the University of Wisconsin on June 21.

He had a visit to Badgers land back in January and this is a very good omen for head coach Greg Gard that he is coming back to campus a second time to visit. Kon Knueppel loves the home vibes and it would be appealing to him if he played college basketball for them. He is a four-star recruit, according to 247sports. Knueppel is one of five high school basketball players that is ranked in the state of Wisconsin.

One of the things that the Badgers miss is shooting. He is a knockdown shooter and the Badgers can’t let that kind of player slip away. In today’s game, you need players who can knock down 3’s and don’t attempt to do things that he isn’t capable of, which is also another good sign. They have compared his game to Kyle Korver, who had a great career in the NBA as a three-point shooter.

Some of the other schools he has gotten offers from are the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Virginia Cavaliers, and the Lousiville Cardinals. It’s understandable if he were to commit to Virginia because they have been one of the best teams in the ACC for quite some time and need some shooters on that roster.

Ohio State is also an interesting appeal because they have young talent despite missing the NCAA Tournament a season ago. The Buckeyes are also almost always in the mix for the Big Ten Championship. As for the Louisville Cardinals, it would make no sense because they are going to be a doormat in the ACC for quite some time.

No matter how you look at it, the Wisconsin Badgers Basketball program needs to make sure they land their top in-state recruit for the class of 2024. Getting Kon Knueppel to commit to this basketball program would be a huge win for Greg Gard and his staff. There are only so many roster spots a team can fill out, but this one they can’t let get away also.
