Kenneth Odumegwu is a wild card linebacker out of Nigeria who before training camp, never actually put on a football helmet before in his life. As against-the-odds, as his preseason run has been for the Packers, it has sadly come to an end this afternoon.
The Green Bay Packers have just released their final cuts, and unfortunately, the rookie LB is among those who have been released by the team.
So does that mean he’s done as a Green Bay Packer?
No it does not, there is still one way in which he stays in Cheese Nation.
The hope now, for anybody who hopes to see him stay in Green Bay, is that this just means Kenneth Odumegwu will stay on the practice squad rather than the final roster of 53. NFL teams can now have up to 16 players on the practice squad, up from 10 in seasons prior.
I, and many other fans, hope that he at least gets to stay in Green Bay to some extent at all. Either way, his journey to this moment has been an inspirational one, you can read more about it here.
