Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have been bitter rivals of the Chicago Bears for over 100 years. It is the oldest and most storied rivalry in the National Football League. That remains the case even though it has been a one-sided rivalry as of late. Rodgers has a 25-5 career record against the Bears (including playoffs). The last time the Bears beat him was back in 2018. And the last time Rodgers fell to the Bears at Lambeau Field was back in 2015. After the Packers swept the Bears in 2022 and the Bears fell to the number one draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Justin Fields admitted that he must play better. In an attempt to do that, Justin Fields obtained Aaron Rodgers’ phone number to reach out to him.
Justin Fields Gets Aaron Rodgers’ Phone Number From Luke Getsy
In a recent interview with Sirius XM Radio, Justin Fields broke down how this happened:
“I try to, you know, get guys’ opinions after the game,” Fields said. “Our offensive coordinator last year [Luke Getsy], he was with Green Bay. So I reached out to him and grabbed Aaron Rodgers number. So, just going to reach out to him.”
One aspect of his game Fields mentioned time after time during multiple interviews was improving his passing in the short game – bubble passes, quick reads, and moving out of the pocket. He even mentioned his admiration for Patrick Mahomes’ ability to navigate the pocket. It will be interesting to see if Aaron Rodgers actually picks up the phone, and if he does, what kind of advice he gives. It is one thing to train with other athletes around the league during the off-season, it is another to directly help the quarterback of your biggest rival. This is certainly an interesting approach by the Chicago Bears’ quarterback. When social media heard this, they had a field day with it:
Oh god this means fields is going on a darkness retreat too😭
