There has been a lot of drama surrounding Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who is looking for a new contract. Taylor has been trying to seek a trade from Indianapolis, but he is still at the moment a member of the Colts organization, even if he doesn’t play a down for them this season.
ESPN Analyst Says It Makes No Sense to Trade Jonathan Taylor
Teams like the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, and Philadelphia Eagles are interested in his services, but one ESPN Analyst thinks that Jonathan Taylor should not be traded in 2023 and play with the Indianapolis Colts.
Robert Griffin III was on NFL Live, and he believes that Taylor is their best player and that it would help take pressure off of rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. He will be the Week 1 starter after being selected fourth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Florida.
Jonathan Taylor Would Help Anthony Richardson Like Alfred Morris Helped Robert Griffin III
When Robert Griffin III was a rookie with the Washington Commanders in 2012, he mentioned in his analysis how he was helped by running back Alfred Morris. Morris that season rushed for 1,613 yards on 335 carries and 13 touchdowns. He averaged rushing 100.8 yards per game that season. Morris also caught 11 passes for 77 yards receiving.
Jonathan Taylor is that type of running back talent who could put up a similar production in Anthony Richardson’s season to make the offense flow. Head coach Shane Steichen would love to run up offensive schemes with Anthony Richardson and him. Currently, the Colts starting running back for Week 1 is Zack Moss. The other two running backs are Deon Jackson and Evan Hull. Hull is a fifth-round rookie (176th overall selection) from Northwestern.
It makes ZERO SENSE for the Colts to trade Jonathan Taylor right now. He is your best player and will take pressure off Rookie QB Anthony Richardson. pic.twitter.com/JR496fsPHG

The odds are that Jonathan Taylor will probably not play a down this season unless he is traded to another football team. Robert Griffin III does give good reasoning behind it, but the relationship between Taylor and Indianapolis is all but over here.
