James Jones and Aaron Rodgers have maintained a strong friendship since Jones retired. Jones has been a reliable source of information when it comes to Rodgers and even broke Rodgers’ contract extension news in 2018. Jones was a guest on “Up and Adams” hosted by Kay Adams. He discussed Aaron Rodgers’ looming decision and what he thinks will happen.
James Jones Opinion
“You better believe that [Aaron Rodgers] wants to hoist up another Lombardi trophy and bring that thing back to Green Bay… I don’t think he’ll leave until he gets it.” – James Jones ⁰⁰📺: @FanDuelTV | @heykayadams | @89JonesNTAF | @packers pic.twitter.com/yKYCyCHGtK

Jones knows Rodgers better than any other source reporting on Rodgers’ future. Jones shared a locker room with him and understands what motivates him. In his opinion, Rodgers wants to bring a Super Bowl back to Green Bay. Jones also mentioned that Aaron Rodgers’ competitive nature will drive him to cement his legacy with another championship.

“I wish I had the address to where 12 was, cuz I would pop up on him, and we’ll sit in the dark room and have a nice conversation – and I will let him know you are retiring a Green Bay Packer."

Aaron Rodgers’ darkness retreat has also made headlines in the last week. Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he hopes to have a better sense of where he is in life after the retreat. After that, he feels like he will be in a better place to make a decision on his playing future.
Jones said that if he could see Rodgers during his retreat he would tell him that he was going to retire as a Green Bay Packer.
“I wish I had the address to where 12 was because I would pop up on him, and we’ll sit in the dark room and have a nice conversation – and I will let him know you are retiring a Green Bay Packer,” said Jones. “I don’t think we see 12 retire anywhere else.”

Jones went on to discuss Rodgers’ relationship with head coach Matt LaFleur and how it could play a role in his decision.
“Him and LaFleur have an excellent relationship. Those two dudes are truly brothers they truly love working together,” said Jones. “Number one they’re going to do what’s right for both of them. I just do not see Aaron Rodgers leaving the Green Bay Packers. I think he will play there this season. I don’t know if he will play another one there, but I think he will finish his career off as a Green Bay Packer.”
