Jamall Williams was called into action for the Packers week seven matchup against the Texans. Aaron Jones suffered a minor injury at practice, and Williams stepped in as the Packers lead running back. His injury should not keep him sidelined multiple weeks, but Jamaal Williams has always been a fantasy asset.
Jamaal Williams Week 7 Peformance
Jamaal Williams was on the field for 89 percent of the Packers offensive snaps in week seven. Williams carried the ball 19 times for 77 yards and a touchdown. He also added four receptions and 37 yards through the air. Williams’s performance placed him among the top six fantasy running backs in all formats for week seven.
Keep Williams even when Jones returns.
Williams’s snap share will drop to around 50 percent when Aaron Jones returns, but he will still be valuable. Jamaal Williams has always been involved in the Packers offense. Jamaal racked up eight receptions and 95 yards against the Falcons in week four. Williams rushed for 65 yards on just eight carries against Detroit this year and 104 yards last year. Jones was active in both of those games.
Jamaal Williams is already at his statistical halfway point for the season and with only seven games completed. Even with Jones returning, you can expect Williams to add at least another 250 rushing yards, 100 yards receiving, and two touchdowns throughout the season. After his week seven production, look for him to set career highs, even with Jones returning presumably in week eight.
