The Green Bay Packers 2023 season is off and running. The first step? Getting the team together for their first organized team activities (OTAs). A few things certainly stood out during the first OTAs, a few more than the rest. One player who has been turning heads is second-year wide receiver Romeo Doubs. He also had something to say following a few OTA practices this year.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Makes Announcement Following OTAs
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs is feeling good as he enters his second year in the NFL. The 23-year-old is expected to play a big role in the Packers’ offense this season as a starter.
“Going into Year 2, I’m playing a lot faster,’” Doubs said. “So I don’t want to say comfortable, because I know being comfortable comes with some sort of complacent area. But just humbly speaking, I’m playing a lot faster.”
Green Bay selected Doubs in the fourth round of last year’s draft. He played in 13 games as a rookie, starting seven. He caught 42 passes for 425 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Packers’ receiving core is young and unproven. Incredibly, Green Bay does not have a single receiver with more than one year on an active NFL roster. Doubs and fellow second-year wideout Christian Watson are the most experienced and the two that will likely have to step up the most this season.
Some Packers fans may feel uneasy about the offense this season, but hearing Doubs say that he feels faster and having him standout in OTAs has to ease the tension a bit. He also said that he’s starting to build solid chemistry with new starting quarterback Jordan Love.
If Romeo Doubs can continue developing into a WR 1/2 on this roster, the Green Bay Packers passing attack will have a lot of potential going forward. Christian Watson has proved he can be a superstar in this league. The Packers drafted a slew of weapons for Jordan Love in the second and third rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft. All of these additions/returns combined with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon out of the backfield could provide the Packers and extremely deep attack.

What is the major announcement. I’m lost with that. He said he’s playing faster. That’s not major, that is what we should expect. With a mediocre QB we may win 2 or 3 games this season, but the front office has it all figured out.
