One former Green Bay Packers wide receiver received a hefty fine from the NFL today. In the New York Jets’ final pre-season game against the New York Giants, Randall Cobb did something that warranted a nearly $15,000 fine from the league.
Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Randall Cobb Receives Massive Fine During New York Jets’ Pre-Season Finale
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Jets receiver Randall Cobb was fined $13,889 dollars for his blindside hit on Giants cornerback Bobby McCain in the teams’ preseason finale.
In the Jets’ first drive last Saturday, Cobb hit Bobby McCain as he attempted to set a block on a passing play. The blindside block resulted in a 15-yard penalty. McCain also left the game with a concussion. Here is a video of the block:

Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb’s chemistry was evident when both players returned to the huddle. In an attempt to lighten the mood, Rodgers joked that the NFL would fine Cobb for the vicious hit and that the veteran wide receiver had just lost all his training camp money.
