The Green Bay Packers are far from the only team in the NFL that is dealing with running back injuries. Aaron Jones, of course, missed a couple of games early in the season with a strained hamstring. Even when he did come back, he was on a snap-count and his production was limited.
In their win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Jones suffered a sprained MCL that has kept him off the field ever since. Furthermore, AJ Dillon is dealing with a groin injury and Emanuel Wilson is on injured reserve with a separated shoulder.
One team that has been dealing with running back issues all season is the Indianapolis Colts. Former Wisconsin Badgers running back and 2021 NFL rushing leader Jonathan Taylor started the season on the PUP list amidst a heated and public contract dispute.
Eventually, Taylor signed an extension and returned to the field, but the Colts and Taylor have not been that good. In seven games, Taylor has 414 rushing yards on 100 carries, good for 4.1 yards per carry. This is the lowest mark of his career.
Now, Taylor is out for several weeks after requiring surgery on an injured thumb. To replace him on the roster this week, Indianapolis is turning to a former Packers running back.
Former Green Bay Packers Running Back Tyler Goodson Has Been Added to the Indianapolis Colts Gameday Roster
Earlier on Friday, Colts owner Jim Irsay posted on X (formerly Twitter) that former Packers running back Tyler Goodson had been promoted from the Indianapolis practice squad to the gameday roster:

Goodson signed with the Colts’ practice squad after Green Bay released him as they trimmed their roster to 53 players. The Packers had opted to keep Patrick Taylor on their own practice squad at the time instead of Goodson.
When Green Bay released Goodson, they came to an injury settlement with him; but that did not keep him from being scooping up quickly. He signed with the Colts about two weeks after he was released by the Packers.
If Goodson sees the field on Sunday, it will be the first NFL regular season action of his career.
