The Green Bay Packers have not been a team that drafts offensive players in the first round of an NFL Draft. That didn’t change last offseason, but the franchise did add some key offensive pieces. In that draft class, they were able to land Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed, and Tucker Kraft.
While fans were perplexed about drafting two tight ends instead of focusing heavier on the wide receiver position, the moves have paid off for Green Bay. Maybe Brian Gutekunst actually does know a thing or two about running a football team after all.
Kraft has ended up taking on a much larger role in the offense than many expected from him during his rookie season. A lot of that is due to the injury suffered by Musgrave. He has made the most of his opportunity.
Green Bay Packers’ Tucker Kraft Leads Entire NFL In Major Statistic
Ahead of this week’s win-and-in matchup with the division rival Chicago Bears, Kraft is actually leading the entire NFL in one shocking statistic. According to Packers Total Access, Kraft is tied for first in the NFL with zero drops and a minimum of 30 targets.

So far this season in his rookie year with the Packers, Kraft has racked up 28 receptions for 324 yards and two touchdowns. He has been coming on strong of late in the passing game, but has also been a big difference maker as a blocker from the tight end position.
Needless to say, the Packers have built an offense that will grow together long-term. Kraft, Musgrave, and Reed are joined by second-year wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson. That’s a long-term recipe for success for Green Bay.
Expect to see the Green Bay Packers have a large role once again this week for Tucker Kraft. He’ll be ready, as he always has been as a rookie.
