The NFL world is still awaiting Aaron Rodgers’ decision, but reports on other free agents are indicating that the Green Bay Packers superstar is headed to the New York Jets.
On Tuesday morning, reports surfaced that the Jets are working to get a deal done with Allen Lazard, per Adam Schefter. Soon after came a report that Randall Cobb may also be on their radar. Now, reports are saying that Green Bay Packers tight end Marcedes Lewis is drawing interest from the Jets.

Lewis’ Green Bay Packers Career

Lewis came to Green Bay in 2018 and took over the role of the blocking tight end. He will turn 39 in 2023 but has shown he can still impact the game. He is one of the best blocking tight ends in all of football, but will still occasionally make a splash in the passing game. Over five years in a Green Bay Packers uniform he had 57 receptions, 582 yards and six touchdowns.
Rodgers the Recruiter
The reason the report is of note however is not because the Jets need a tight end. Rodgers has mentioned on multiple occasions how close he is to Lewis and his desire to continue playing with him. The New York Jets are already going after guys Rodgers has mentioned he likes playing with. Add Marcedes Lewis to the list that includes Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.
According to Dianna Russini of ESPN, Aaron Rodgers has given the Jets a “wish list” of free agents he would like them to target. That list includes Lewis, Lazard and Cobb, but also includes Odell Beckham Jr. It looks like Rodgers is trying to load up the Jets’ offense before he makes a final decision.
