Green Bay Packers re-sign safety
The Green Bay Packers are set to re-sign a veteran safety this week. The Packers came into the offseason with questions about who they would be able to keep on defense for the 2023 campaign. The Packers look to be getting younger and rebuilding the defense as they transition to Jordan Love being the full-time quarterback.
The Packers came into this week with roster spots needing to be filled in the secondary. The team has not been able to re-sign Adrian Amos, who is currently a free agent. However, according to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Packers were able to keep Dallin Leavitt.
The #Packers are re-signing S Dallin Leavitt, source says. A special-teams standout who enters his sixth NFL season — all six of which he’s played for Rich Bisaccia, who is a big Leavitt fan.

Leavitt is known for his special teams contributions. He played 305 snaps on special teams last season for the Packers. Leavitt earned a 54.7 overall grade by Pro Football Focus for his special teams play in 2022. He recorded only one play on defense last season.
The Packers have made re-signing special teams a priority this offseason. They signed return specialist Kiesean Nixon, linebacker Eric Wilson, long snapper Matt Orzech, and now Leavitt.
