Peter King is confident that an Aaron Rodgers trade is going to happen. While others are starting to question how long this deal is going to take, King has a timetable for when this deal will be completed. In an interview with Colin Cowherd, he revealed when he thinks this trade will be done.

“It really doesn’t matter when this deal is going to get done. It’s going to get done.” King stated confidently. While others are calling for the Jets to abandon the trade plans, King thinks that is never going to happen. The Jets are going to get Aaron Rodgers. The question is when and King had a hilarious bet for Cowherd if he is wrong.
“This thing will get done before the draft. If I’m wrong I will come on your show and you can pelt me with tomatoes.”
You read that right. Peter King will get pelted with tomatoes if this deal is not done before the draft. This is an incredibly confident statement and King is well-connected when it comes to NFL sources.

The Timeline Makes Sense
The Packers do not want to lose Rodgers and get nothing for this year’s draft. While a first seems unlikely at this point, don’t discount the value of second-round picks. Christian Watson, Davante Adams, and many more Packers greats were picked in the second round. In this year’s draft especially the difference in talent from no. 13 to no. 43 is minimal. Honestly, this is a draft that I wouldn’t hate the Packers trading down in order to gain more draft capital.
The deal seems to be getting closer to a resolution according to reports. It is under a month until the NFL draft which means we will likely see a resolution in the coming weeks.
