The Green Bay Packers have fully committed to a young group of receivers. While many wondered whether the Packers would try and add a veteran receiver, the team seems comfortable with their current group. Most of the focus has been on Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson but there is another second-year receiver who has been turning heads. Samori Toure had a spectacular over-the-shoulder catch today at minicamp.
Green Bay Packers Samori Toure Has Spectacular Catch At Minicamp
You can watch the video here. He tracks the ball well and has to adjust as it goes over his shoulder. He then goes to the ground and maintains control. It is a fabulous catch for the second-year receiver out of Nebraska. Toure had limited opportunities last year but took advantage of them. His long touchdown catch in the game against the Bills was on a national stage. The coaches also seem to really like him and they talk about the receiver any chance they get.

Unprompted Praise
I have never seen a player get so much unprompted praise as Toure. In countless press conferences, coaches bring him up. He is a hard worker who is really trying to do what is best for the team. I believe that Toure’s development is a big reason why the team did not sign a veteran receiver. They feel good about the trio of Doubs, Watson, and Toure moving forward. If he develops into a capable NFL receiver, it will be a huge draft steal as he was picked in the seventh round.
The Green Bay Packers and their fans have to like what they have seen out of Samori Toure. With Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb gone, Toure will likely get more snaps this year. If he does, it will be interesting to see what he can do with them.
