Green Bay Packers fans are among the most passionate fanbases in all of sports, for better or for worse. The current Aaron Rodgers situation, a potential trade of the four-time MVP to the New York Jets, has divided the fanbase in a similar fashion to how it was divided when the Packers chose Rodgers himself over Brett Favre in 2008. While there are many similarities between Rodgers’ situation and Favre’s, there is one MAJOR difference: social media. While Twitter and Facebook existed back in 2008, they were not as widely used as they are now. Today’s fan is much more likely to have their voice heard by more people by posting their thoughts on social media. And when it comes to the Aaron Rodgers’ trade, boy, there are some thoughts!
There Is a Possibility that an Aaron Rodgers Trade Would Involve Multiple Players
At first, it seemed that the Packers and Jets were merely discussing draft picks and Rodgers’ contract during their negotiations. However, new reports/rumors are stating that multiple players could be involved in the trade:
With @JFowlerESPN reporting multiple players could be a part of the Aaron Rodgers deal (Same thing happened in the Russ trade), I wonder if that means Corey Davis will be in the trade on a reduced deal.
Jets need to save money anyway and the #Packers can get him before market.

Green Bay Packers Fans React to the Rumor
As one might expect, Green Bay Packers fans had a great deal to say regarding this rumor. Of all the players mentioned, David Bakhtiari and Darnell Savage are the only ones under contract with Green Bay. There were some people saying the Packers would package Randall Cobb and/or Robert Tonyan, which makes zero sense because they are both free agents.
I do not anticipate David Bakhtiari being part of an Aaron Rodgers trade. Unloading both of the Packers’ most painful & backloaded contracts would be a long term financial blessing, but it’s not happening.
If Bakhtiari does follow Rodgers, it’s more likely via a post June 1 cut.

Ken is really smart, by the way. If you’re on Twitter and are not following him, I recommend fixing that.

Okay, but this was funny.
#Jets fans are going to love watching Aaron Rodgers force balls to Randall Cobb next year.

An app obsessed with the salary cap, and nobody has brought up how the Jets currently have almost no space – yet they’re going to acquire Aaron Rodgers AND David Bakhtiari?
Not buying it.

Jacob is also a good follow, by the way.

Not sure how realistic that is.
Randall Cobb, Darnell Savage will follow

I could see Cobb following Rodgers in free agency.
