Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed had a very good rookie season last year. As a second-round pick from Michigan State, he has a very high ceiling in the future just like other wide receivers selected in the second round in the past. Two of the names that come to mind are Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams.
According to Pro Football Focus, when he was targeted last season, the quarterback’s passer rating was 123.3 which ranks first amongst Packers wide receivers and seventh in all of the NFL. This goes to show the kind of potential he has. Reed runs very good routes. He had a case of dropping passes early on last season but improved as the season went on.
Jayden Reed last season caught 64 passes for 793 yards receiving and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 12,4 yards per reception. He also rushed for 119 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 10.8 per carry. With the way his stats were during his rookie season, some say that he will have higher expectations during his second season in the NFL.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Jayden Reed Can Get To 1,000 Yards Receiving This Season
In just his second season this year, it is very possible that Reed could get up to 1,000 yards. Entering the 2024 season, he will probably be the top wide receiver on the depth chart. The chemistry between him and quarterback Jordan Love is excellent and it will only continue to get better.
They did not have a 1,000-yard wide receiver a season ago and they have a very good wide receiver core along with Reed. Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson also have the talent to get to 1,000 yards this season. Dontayvion Wicks will most likely be the fourth wide receiver on the depth chart entering training camp.
Jayden Reed is also versatile because he can also be used in the game plan to get handoffs in the backfield or be used on jet sweep plays. Reed also has the potential to be a top-10 wide receiver in the NFL this year. He is also good at lining up in the slot and on the outside. Don’t be surprised when Reed is talked about a lot next season.
