The Green Bay Packers are slowly building a Super Bowl-worthy roster with Jordan Love at the heart of the offense. While there have been a couple of offensive hiccups during the first five weeks of the season, anyone who watched the Packers play this season knows that Matt LaFleur is building something special at Lambeau Field.
However, the same fans who feel excited about the Packers’ future will be the first to tell you that the team still lacks a solid wide-receiving corps for Love to rely on when defenses muck up their offensive schemes. While Jayden Reed is quickly establishing himself as the squad’s primary weapon at WR1, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs have faced issues that prevent the Packers from being the bonafide contenders in the NFC North.
The Packers managed to take down a struggling Los Angeles Rams despite Doubs’ absence due to a team-mandated suspension. While Matt LaFleur preached for player accountability, the team’s QB1 focused on what was ahead for him and the team.
Jordan Love urged Green Bay Packers fans to look past Romeo Doubs’ suspension ahead of Arizona game
The 24-year-old Nevada product was nowhere to be seen in the Green Bay locker room during the team’s media availability on Wednesday, so the media had to settle with his teammates to get a juicy scoop on his situation.
Love firmly addressed the questions and asked everyone to move forward with the team as they zero in on winning as many games as possible.
Per the Associated Press:
“It happened, it´s in the past, and I think everyone´s excited to have him back,” quarterback Jordan Love said. “I think we just move forward with it and learn and grow from the situation.”
It’s clear where Love’s head is: he wants to win football games and eliminate any distractions that could distract the roster from winning as many games as possible.
Doubs is having a decent run as the #2 option for Love through the four games he’s played this season, catching for 169 yards and 14.1 yards per reception. If he continues to make the same kinds of strides he was making before his Week 5 suspension, fans can expect a great game from him, Love, and the rest of the Green Bay offense.
