Milwaukee Bucks Have Shocking Odds To Land Chris Paul

Could the Milwaukee Bucks make a play for Chris Paul in free agency? It’s a long shot, but the possibility remains.

At least that’s what the odds suggest amid the questions on Paul’s future with the Golden State Warriors following their play-in disappointment.

Paul is on a non-guaranteed $30 million contract for the 2024-25 season, so what lies ahead for him Golden State is uncertain. His contract is a big reason why the Warriors traded for him in the past offseason, as it will provide them flexibility in the offseason.

The Warriors could simply use his contract as a trade asset, or even clear it off their books before it becomes guaranteed.

With that being said, Paul is well aware that he could find himself in a different jersey in 2024-25. That is why CP3 also gave a vague response when asked about his future with the team following their play-in exit on Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings.

While nothing is official just yet, no one is stopping fans and bookmakers from making a buzz about the Point God’s future. Interestingly, the Bucks are among the Top 5 teams who are favored to be Paul’s next destination.

According to the BetOnline AG odds, the Bucks have the fourth-best odds to be the next team of the veteran playmaker at +900.

The Bucks could really use a playmaker, especially since they have spent a good  part of the past few years without a true point guard who prioritized distributing the ball. Even now, their point guard is Damian Lillard, who is more of a score-first player.

Having another facilitator could be what unlocks and brings the Bucks’ offense to a new level instead of being heavily reliant on 3-point shooting and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s dominance in the paint.

It’s unknown if the Milwaukee Bucks will show any interest in Chris Paul this offseason. Besides, it’s not their priority right now since they are focused on the Indiana Pacers and the NBA Playoffs.

Nonetheless, should Milwaukee feel the need to chase for CP3, it won’t be easy. The Los Angeles Clippers are actually the current favorites to land him at odds of +300. The Los Angeles Lakers are next at +400, while the Philadelphia 76ers have the third-best odds at +900.

While Paul is already turning 39, there is no denying that he is a quality player and remains a solid contributor. He also has no issues taking a bench role, so any team who gets him knows they will have someone who is ready to do anything to win.

Should the Bucks pursue him? Well, the Milwaukee faithful can only wait and see.
