The Green Bay Packers have an off-season full of questions ahead of them. From quarterback to safety, to tight end, and possibly even wide receiver. However, it would appear that one of their rivals will have an off-season full of questions as well. The Minnesota Vikings have released a long-tenured all-pro who has been an anchor on their defense.
Green Bay Packers Rival – Minnesota Vikings – Release All-Pro Eric Kendricks

On Monday March 6th, the Minnesota Vikings officially released veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks. Kendricks was an excellent player and leader for eight seasons. Eric Kendricks was named a first team all-pro during the 2019 season. He was given pro-bowl honors for that same season as well. From 2015-2022 Kendricks racked up 919 tackles, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, nine interceptions, 51 pass deflections, and 3 defensive touchdowns. He was an anchor for the Minnesota Vikings’ defense for the better part of the last decade. The Green Bay Packers became all too familiar with the veteran linebacker and surely won’t miss lining up against him twice a year.
Releasing Eric Kendricks saved the Vikings $9.5 million against the 2023 cap. They entered the offseason needing to trim about $23 million. The move also hints at how quickly Bryan Flores (the Vikings new Defensive Coordinator) could improve what was the NFL’s 31st-ranked defense in terms of yards in 2022. Eric Kendricks figures to be a popular name in free-agency for linebacker needy teams. In 2022, Eric Kendricks started all 17 games, recorded 137 total tackles, six pass deflections, one sack, and one fumble recovery. Even though the Vikings’ defense struggled at times in 2022, Kendricks was a constant pillar for their defense.
