The Green Bay Packers said goodbye to one of their cornerstone players on Tuesday. The Packers traded CB Rasul Douglas and a 2024 fifth-round to the Buffalo Bills for a third-round selection.
Signed just before the 2021 season, Rasul Douglas was a core member of the Packers’ defense for two seasons and solidified the secondary after injuries to Kevin King and All-Pro CB Jaire Alexander.
During his 36-game stint in Green Bay, Douglas had 174 tackles, two forced fumbles, and ten interceptions. Unfortunately, the Packers traded away a fan favorite, but the good news is Douglas provided a lot of memories for the franchise, and we’ll take a look at Douglas’ top-five moments as a Packers.
Rasul Douglas’ top-five moments as a Green Bay Packer

This game, if you can believe it, led to Josh Allen’s string of sub-par performances in the second half of last season. Douglas can undercut the route and intercept the pass intended for Gabriel Davis. Douglas has underrated ball skills despite the chaotic end to this play. It’s good to get a reminder that there is a tape of the Green Bay Packers defense forcing a turnover.
4- Pick-six vs. Los Angeles Rams to put the game out of reach for the Packers.

2021 Rasul Douglas was on another level. This would be the second pick-six Douglas would have that season, and this was a vital win for the Green Bay Packers, as the two squads were vying for home-field advantage throughout the postseason. This also went along with one of the themes for the Green Bay Packers defense in 2021, in that when the defense needed a play to be made, Rasul Douglas was there.

Rasul Douglas had Baker Mayfield’s number that day. Mayfield threw four interceptions, including two to Douglas. After building a big lead in the first half, the Packers’ offense sputtered in the second half and was a Browns’ field goal away from blowing a nine-point lead, but Douglas, as he did many times that season, came through with the big play to seal the victory.
2- Pick-six vs Chicago.

This is a moment where Rasul Douglas became a Green Bay Packer because anytime you make a play against the Chicago Bears, that’s when fans take notice of who you are. Not that the Chicago Bears had a shot at winning, but this play opened the floodgates to a 24-14 victory over the Chicago Bears in the 2021 season.

Some are saying that Rasul Douglas single-handedly ruined the Arizona Cardinals. Since that play, the Cardinals have only won eight NFL games. Those are the types of plays Douglas made frequently when he first suited up for the Packers.
It’s stunning that Rasul Douglas will no longer be a Green Bay Packer, but give credit to Green Bay because they revitalized his career. Before latching on with Green Bay in 2021, Douglas had bounced around with five teams. Green Bay saw his immense talent and gave him a shot. Douglas repaid the team with three years of consistent play. Now he has a shot at a Super Bowl with one of the AFC’s best teams.
