Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Speaks Out About Matt LaFleur

Kurt Benkert, former backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, recently shared his thoughts on his time with head coach Matt LaFleur on Twitter. Kurt has been candid about his tenure in Green Bay and how his personality did not align well with some coaches and players.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my opinion / experience with MLF and will be very transparent on my comments of us “butting heads”.

I’ll start by giving my honest opinions about the scheme. It’s outdated, and there is a better way to play offense right now. I’m not going to…

    — Kurt Benkert (@KurtBenkert) October 10, 2023

Some fans expressed support for Benkert after he tweeted about their frustrations with the head coach of the Green Bay Packers.

I don’t even think you need to explain yourself. As a packers fan, I can tell Matt lafleur is a terrible coach and has a horrible mentality when he approaches the game. Nothing ever gets fixed and we’ve had the same issues since he got to Green Bay.

Is it the same scheme that he originally came in with? Similar to McVay/Shannahan ? Because it looks nothing like theirs. It seemed to look like it a bit in year 1. Now it’s like they’ve been running Mike McCarthys old offense. Is he not implementing his own offensive scheme?

The Green Bay Packers lost their Monday night matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, 17-13. With the team entering the bye week, fans are starting to express their opinions about the team and coaching staff.

When Matt LaFleur says “it starts with me” … he ain’t kidding.

    — Kyle Malzhan (@KyleMalzhan) October 10, 2023

This is gonna be a brutal self scout for Matt LaFleur during the bye week.

    — Matt Schneidman (@mattschneidman) October 10, 2023

A lot of blame has been placed on Matt LaFleur for the Green Bay Packers’ lack of success. With one of the youngest teams in the league, coaching is crucial for the team’s success. His play calling has been questionable as well as the weeks go on.

3rd & 11.. Lafleur calls a screen pass behind the line of scrimmage?? Against a bad defense that he already can’t scheme to move the ball against.

MLF is a fraud of an “offensive coach” if I’ve ever seen one

Is Matt LaFleur A Good Coach?

When Matt LaFleur had one of the best records as an NFL head coach, the media started to speculate that Aaron Rodgers was responsible for his success in the league. When Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, fans and the media waited patiently to see if LaFleur was the real deal with an inexperienced QB, Jordan Love. As of now, it is too early to tell whether he is a good head coach or not. The team has had to deal with several injuries and is one of the youngest teams in the league. Green Bay Packers fans hope the coaching staff can regroup during the bye week and help develop this young team.
