The Green Bay Packers have lost yet another game. This time, their division rival, the Minnesota Vikings, by a score of 24-10. The Packers’ offense has been nonexistent for the majority of this season. This is getting even more frustrating for fans and the team as a whole.
Not only is the lack of a running game an issue, but the passing game is suffering tremendously, of course, in the first half, as it has been for several games, but also in its entirety.
Green Bay Packers Passing Game Against Minnesota
On Sunday, Jordan Love completed 24-41 passes for 229 yards with one touchdown and one interception. While he is throwing a lot of passes, he is not throwing many touchdowns. This may be a result of poor decision-making and timing or bad route running by the Green Bay Packers’ wide receivers.
The only touchdown scored in the loss to the Vikings was done by Romeo Doubs, who had just four catches for 18 yards with one score. Rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed was the leader in yards with 83 on four receptions.
Backup running back AJ Dillon was the second-leading pass catcher with five catches for 41 yards. He also had six carries for 11 yards on the ground. Aaron Jones carried the ball seven times for 29 yards.
The running game has been an issue in keeping the Green Bay Packers from having a balanced offensive attack. This makes Love have to put the ball in the air at a higher rate.
Christian Watson Receptions Numbers In 2023
When it comes to the passing game for the Green Bay Packers, it has been horrendous. Only putting up 10 points will not help win games against any opponent. Having chemistry with the wide receivers is the key to any passing game, obviously.
Christian Watson has averaged 2.75 receptions per game this season.

Of course, Christian Watson has been sidelined with injury for most of this season. But, despite the injuries, he has returned to play. Against the Minnesota Vikings, Watson had just three catches for 33 yards.
He does have to get used to playing again after being out, but he is not getting the ball as much as he should. His production needs to be increased at that wide receiver spot for chances to score more points on offense. His reception average is very low, being considered, at one time, the top wideout on the team for the Green Bay Packers.
Packers After Week 8
It is hard to pinpoint what the Packers should do on offense after eight games. There is not much more to be done except maybe try out the backup quarterback, Sean Clifford. Or find an offensive coordinator to call plays. The lack of points and production on offense has been hurting the team.
After the game against Minnesota, Jordan Love told the media that he feels the offense is “right there.” Certainly, he sees something that fans are not. He still remains confident in the offense and as the quarterback under center.
It would be nice to see something change in a positive way for the Green Bay Packers, but when will it appear? Hopefully, sooner rather than later. However, a successful season seems to be out of the picture, with nine games remaining on the schedule.
