The Green Bay Packers are quickly approaching the season and they hope to be healthy before week one. While preseason games are a great way to judge talent, they are not without risk of injury. Green Bay Packers safety Tarvarius Moore suffered a knee injury in week two of the preseason against the New England Patriots. On Tuesday Matt LaFleur revealed that Moore’s injury is considered “day to day.”
Green Bay Packers safety’s injury is not considered serious
The Green Bay Packers signed Tarvarius Moore to a one-year deal in the offseason. He spent the last four seasons as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. Moore is competing with Rudy Ford and Jonathan Owens for playing time this season. Matt LaFleur spoke on Moore’s injury on Tuesday.
“It’s more day to day,” said LaFleur.
Moore could end up being a big part of the Packers’ defense. Owens, Ford and Moore have all gotten a chance to practice with the starting unit at some point. Currently, it looks like Ford and Owens are ahead of Moore on the depth chart, but Moore’s experience could prove valuable and find him a way onto the field. Moore also provides special teams value, so even if he is not playing on the backend of the defense he can make an impact on Rich Bissacia’s unit.
As a member of the 49ers, Moore played over 1,000 snaps on special teams. He was signed by the Green Bay Packers to compete for a safety spot but provides tremendous special teams value.
